Slap the word "secret" in the title of a book; use it on a cover story; or include it in any article, and voila; you've got yourself a captive audience. Bees will buzz on that honey-word, as any copywriter worth his salt will tell you. Don't believe me? [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] As I write this article, the book titled "The Secret" is flying off the shelves at all the major bookstores across the country. But here's the story behind the story, which is much more interesting than the product itself.
I read Mr. Wattles book long ago. While I disagree with some of the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] theory, I found it to have value in the use of positive thinking. And there is no "secret" to this writing. It appears he purposely left out the powerful word "secret." Gee, I wonder why?
But Rhonda Byrne saw something much bigger in this little book. She felt there was an earth-shaking message, and by golly, it was time to tell the world. In [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] her biography, we witness this transformation [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] as [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] her "whole life suddenly pulled into a spectacular focus, she knew exactly what her mission was to become?she was going to spread joy to every corner of the world."
The purpose of his writing was to bring public awareness to certain Universal Laws, which could be used to benefit mankind. Mr. Wattles believed that positive thinking would have a profound effect upon the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] individual. This was not something new; nor was it a secret. Volumes of work within the New Thought movement included many authors, of which Mr. Wattles was a member.
Poor Mr. Wattles; his fine work, debased, is well on [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] its way into the hands of hungry readers looking for success, hope, and spiritual awareness. Instead of reading his little book, the public is privy to the "secret" through state of the art computer imaging, slick graphics, and the best marketing tools available on the planet. The most important component, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the content, is distorted; most [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of it is missing.
Rhonda Byrne, the author of "The Secret" discovered a small book published in 1910, written by a man named Wallace D. Wattles. The title of his book is appropriately called, "The SCIENCE of Getting Rich." If Mr. Wattles had titled his book "The SECRET of Getting Rich" he would have become a millionaire and a very well-known writer. But this was not his intention.
Yes, Ms.Byrne is on a mission. "In two short months she had studied the great leaders from the past, read hundreds of books, and amassed [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] countless hours of research." To absorb all the world's history, philosophy, science, art, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] religion and languages within 60 days is AMAZING. How did the woman do it? When did she find time to eat or sleep? Only Oprah knows.
Ms. Byrne goes even further. If you are not a reader, she could put [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the whole belief system into a visual form. This will make it even easier for you to understand the power of the universe. See how simple it is? You don't even have to open a book and make the effort to read. Everything is done for you; just watch the DVD. Unfortunately, Mr. Wattles' premise of positive thinking is now transformed into a genie, which hovers on a television screen granting wishes.
